Corinthians 13:4-5 says, “Love
is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered,
it keeps no record of wrongs.” I think this verse means that if we show
kindness to other we will reap rewarding rewards. I also think that we can
learn a lot from this verse specifically, because it says basically what to do,
and what not to do. I think this verse is pretty much self-exclamatory in its
teachings. When it says, “Love is patient, love is kind.” It means we should
have patient with people around us, and not get hot- headed. I don’t know about
you, but I like to be around people who don’t keep reminding me of what I did
wrong in the past. In conclusion, we should be respectful to others and know
that they are human, and everyone makes mistakes.
This is so mind boggling! In our sin ridden world, loving this way is an art that is RARELLY mastered. We are so INWARD focused that the only people that we can USUALLY show this kind of love to is ourselves. I know for me, I have a really hard time loving this way. I get mad at my brothers over petty things and sometimes hold a grudge. But that makes me think, God has all the opportunities in the WORLD to hold a grudge against us. I mean, we MURDERED him. Yet, he still shows towards us a love that is kind, patient and not proud!
