We had a party to celebrate the first day of school! I wanted to celebrate a new school year, making new friends and learning new things. We also talked about running to win. Our Bible verse this week is 1 Corinthians 9:24-25, "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever." We also took a math fact quiz. Please have your student work a few minutes every day on their math facts. Mathfactspro.com is a great site. We will also be working on Khan Academy. I need your permission to set up an account for your child. I will send that form plus our classroom guidelines home tomorrow so that you can sign them and return them ASAP.
