A very fun and exciting first day of school at DAS! In Mrs. Velbis' room we got to have snacks that started with our student's names. Kristen brought in kiwi, Nina brought in Nutella banana bread, Tristan brought in Triscuits, Joey brought in jello, etc. It was a delicious way to start off the year. We also brought bags that had 5 simple things that told our classmates about ourselves. Luke brought in a seashell because he likes going to the beach, Lizette brought in a piggy bank from her collection, Joshua brought in one of his favorite books, etc. I enjoyed getting to know my students better.
We also went over school and classroom rules and procedures, wrote in our writer's notebook and made a bird feeder.
