First Quizzes of the Year Tomorrow

Bible memory verse quizzes will be tomorrow.
1st - 4th graders:
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory.” Isaiah 6:3

 5th – 8th graders:
“I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.” Psalm 119:11
Make sure to study spelling words tonight. Our first spelling quiz is tomorrow.
Today we learned some more map skills. Here is a silly song to help the students remember latitude and longitude: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Ab-gE8ov4o
In writer's workshop we are learning different brainstorming techniques and in reading we are learning different reading comprehension strategies. For reading we are using the strategy of using background knowledge to help us understand the text better.
Our five newest essential rules from Ron Clark are:
#21 Do not get out of your seat without permission. Raise your hand to speak.
#22 Bring a bottle of water to class. Do not ask for a drink during a lesson.
#23 Greet the other teachers in the school when you see them.
#24 Flush the toilet and wash your hands after using the rest room.
#25 Make visitors feel special and welcomed to our school.
