Compare and Contrast Paper for 6th-8th Graders

The 6th-8th graders were given the book Too Much Salt and Pepper today. On December 20th they will have a compare and contrast paper due. Veterans Home

Thank you Kathy Hayden and Margaret Crabtree for organizing a trip to the Bruce Mccandless CO State Veterans Nursing Home. Margaret made over 50 lap blankets that we were able to distribute along with cards to the very thankful veterans. Thank you JJ Martinez for also joining us. In addition, we sang songs and gave out lots of smiles.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

So thankful to the Pueblo community for being generous in our food drive this year. We were able to help 10 families in need have a better Thanksgiving. And also a big thank you to the Pueblo First SDA Church and members for their help in providing fresh food, turkeys, and delivering the items. And also the Daystar students for being bright lights to Pueblo. Happy Thanksgiving!

The Rock Cycle & Can Collecting Part 2

Today was a fun, exciting, and delicious day!  First, Mr. Walker explained the rock cycle with chocolates. Then we took all of that extra energy and went can collecting. Praise God! The community was very generous. As a way to thank the volunteers and students for their hard work, Mrs. Velbis then treated everyone to a doughnut at Dunkin Doughnuts.  Now we will begin to sort all of the donations so that we can make as many Thanksgiving baskets as possible, for those in need this holiday season. If you would like to make a donation (money or non-perishable food items), contact the school or Pueblo First SDA church. THANK YOU!!!
