5th-8th Grade History PBL

2018 History & Language Arts PBL

5th-8th Grade

Essential Questions:

What can we learn from history?

Do the lessons passed down to us by history, lessons whose origins may be hundreds, even thousands of years in the past, still have value today?

How can I use that information to help my community NOW?

5th – 8th Graders

Take your reading book (Code Talkers, Anne Frank, or Freedom Train) and make a comparison to another turbulent time in history where a group of people were being mistreated and devalued (ex – Tiananmen Square or America’s Trail of Tears). You will write a compare and contrast paper on these two time periods, keeping in mind the essential questions for this project. You will also prepare a presentation for your project and present this at a culminating event.

The rubrics and blank graphic organizers for this project can be found at velbisclassroom.blogspot.com.  They will be given out as the project progresses. ALWAYS use complete sentences, grammar, and punctuation to fill out diagrams.
