Organ PBL Research Project



We will be working on this in class, but it will also require out-of-class time. Please help your child with materials, tour or interview transportation,  and benchmark dates.

Organ Specialist PBL

1st-4th will choose 3 activities and 5th - 8th will choose 5 activities from the list below. The number in parentheses is the length requirement for the proper grade. (1st-4th/5th-8th) In addition, all 5th-8th grade projects will need to have all information typed. (displays, papers, labels, scripts, etc.)

 ** This activity is a requirement and will count towards the total number of activities.

·       * Informative playing/trading cards (10/20) Example of cards

·       * Write and illustrate a children’s book about the importance of this organ (7/15 pages)

·       * Canva poster about main facts associated with this organ (5/10) (www.canva.com)

·       *  3d model or process demonstration Example of model/process

·       * Find an association connected with your organ and request promo materials – phone call (script)      and materials presented at awards night 

·       * Research a famous person with a disease connected to this organ and write an essay on how it has    affected their life. (1/5 paragraphs)

·       * Come up with a product to help people that have a disease connected to your organ. Product              name, description (paragraph) and drawn prototype on a small poster board.

Rocky Mountain Conference Music Festival 2019

Great memories, new friends, service projects, and beautiful music were all a part of the RMC Music Festival. So glad that Daystar (5th-8th graders) could be a part of it!

Congratulations Luke!

     Congratulations to Luke, one of the honorable mentions in the middle school category for the 11th Annual Pueblo Home of Heroes Association Essay Contest! He wrote an essay answering the question, "What does is it mean to you to pledge allegiance to the U.S. flag?" 
     Luke was recognized in a special awards ceremony at the Rawlings Public Library. He received a certificate and special Home of the Heroes medallion from the Pueblo City Mayor.
