Milk Fireworks

This quarter we are going to study science. We started off the quarter talking about the scientific method and today we did Milk Fireworks! Ours didn't turn out as well - I guess almond milk doesn't work as well as whole milk - but that is all part of learning and science!  Try it at home with your child. Here is a video that shows off the experiment:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqQSlEViNpk

Today we also did a Fall walk to work on to work on our word choice. We had a one sentence contest. Congratulations to Collin and Grant - they tied!  Collin wrote, "Birds and squirrels chirp their excitement, and an artist's paintbrush dabs a stroke at the sprinkled pieces of Autumn."  Grant wrote, "Fall is like a fashion show where the trees change from green to yellow, but all must leave to make way for the winter to come down the platform."

Daystar students have practice this Wednesday, the 21st, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Please also be at the Pueblo First SDA Church this Saturday, the 24th, from 10:30 a.m. to noon in church attire. Our school will be presenting the main church service. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support.

Please put October 27th on the calendar at 6:00 p.m. for PIE night. (Parental Involvement in Education) Please invite neighbors, relatives and friends. We will be discussing and doing activities to make math more fun!

Also to end the month of October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness month, students who wear the most pink on October 29th to school will receive a small prize.
