Cross Generational Conversations

We started off our new week talking about the importance of listening to our parents.  Our parents help us stay safe and have a lot of knowledge to share.  I think it was interesting that there is even a Facebook movement trying to encourage young people talking to their parents for cross generational knowledge and ideas.  It's not a new idea - the Bible said it in Deuteronomy 6:6-7, "Write these commandments that I’ve given you today on your hearts. Get them inside of you and then get them inside your children. Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning to when you fall into bed at night.

Students, your homework tonight is to ask your parents what they personally do to help their health?  What are some things your parents know they should be doing but are having a hard time doing?  Are there ways that you could work together as a family to help each other meet health goals?  Share with your parents some of the research from your PBL.  Have fun and enjoy the interaction!
