We started our day practicing for our gymnastics routine, which we will debut at the DAS Art Extravaganza on February 24th, at 6:30pm. All students will need to be there, so please put this date on your calendar!
The 5th graders did a great job on their math chapter test today and tomorrow the 4th graders will have their mid chapter test. The 3rd graders are working on determining the value of fractions. The 4th graders are studying decimals, money and fractions. The 5th graders will be starting a new chapter on patterns and graphing.
The students are continuing their brainstorming on the Kids Care Health Fair. Next week they will need to start bringing in materials to make their booths. All students are being asked to help and participate. I handed out their rubrics today. You can find them here: cte.sfasu.edu/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/group_projects.doc and http://www.rcampus.com/rubricshowc.cfm?sp=true&code=Q3694X&.
In writing we continued our study on suffixes and similes and metaphors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2Z4p0au1yk and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b76aHODplcA.
Our quote for today is from Edwin Hubble, "Equipped with his five senses, man explores the universe around him and calls the adventure Science."
