Sparrows

We started off our day singing about how God is more than sufficient to take care of us and the sparrows: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRJZQFRyZ6s

This week, since it is a shortened week, there will not be any spelling or Spelling City assignments. We started our Bible verses this week. The students started writing them today and will finish and have them memorized for a quiz on Thursday. Please practice memorizing with them at home. The 1st and 2nd grade verse is:
“In the beginning God created the sky and the earth. The earth was empty and had no form. Darkness covered the ocean, and God’s Spirit was moving over the water.” Genesis 1:1-2
The 5th-7th grade verse is:
“God’s Word is living and powerful. It is sharper than a sword that cuts both ways. It cuts straight into where the soul and spirit meet and it divides them. It cuts into the joints and bones. It tells what the heart is thinking about and what it wants to do.” Hebrews 4:12

In history we talked about the prophets - especially Micah and Isaiah. There is something really interesting about the book of Isaiah - ask your student what it is. Here is the video that we watched to go along with it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sumaXbjP2Kg
I am sending home Pizza Ranch release forms today. Please have those signed and returned tomorrow.

Students were also introduced to their PBL's for this semester. Their first due date is on Thursday. I will be sending home forms for them to bring back on Thursday. Each due date is a significant grade for their project.

Also, the 5th-7th graders were given their new reading packets. These will be due on September 29, which means their reading books also need to be completed by then.
Our quote for today is from Matthew 10:39, "Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care."
