Snowflakes

This week we colored patterned snowflakes.  This is a picture of Satrese's.  She did a beautiful job.  Isn't it wonderful how God made us all different - just like snowflakes?

Next week our class will be participating in the Hour of Code.  Please watch this exciting video - I am thrilled to be able to offer this to my students!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rH7AjDMz_dc&index=2&list=PLzdnOPI1iJNe1WmdkMG-Ca8cLQpdEAL7Q

Tomorrow the 4th graders will be having a math mid-chapter test.  Please have them review.  The 3rd graders will be having their chapter test on Friday.

Today we talked about poetry and the different kinds, definitions and purposes.  They are writing poetry for their next writing project.

I am sending home a permission slip today for a field trip to the John Knox Nursing Home, next Tuesday the 9th at 10:45 a.m.  Please sign and return tomorrow.  I still need a few drivers - please let me know if you would be available.  We will be singing Christmas carols to the residents.

Today's quote is by Thoreau, "Nature is full of genius, full of the divinity; so that not a snowflake escapes its fashioning
hand."
