Hooks and Organization

Daystar students are becoming wonderful writers!  The pictures today are from our writer's workshop and studying an example of a great hook. We have been talking about organization and hooks or brilliant beginnings.  Here is a video that I would like them to watch to enhance what we did in the classroom today and to get them ready for tomorrow's lesson on transitions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzhD9-ajrm4

Please be aware that all weekly assignments are due tomorrow. Reading Plus is due Sunday night at midnight.  These assignments will greatly affect their quarterly grades, so please help them in their time management.  I am going to put a sample of chart that might help my 3rd - 8th graders.

*These activities are given time to work on in class.  But this is a plan in case that does not happen.  Some time is also given in class to do Reading Plus and Spelling City.
This is a suggested plan to help organize your student’s time.  Success doesn’t happen by chance – but with hard work and planning!

Remember that God, your teachers and your parents are your biggest cheerleaders.  We are here to help you succeed!
