Essential Questions & Visualizing

What is an essential question?  Essential questions are questions that spark curiosity and dialogue. They don't have a right or wrong answer and usually engage even more questions.  So today we did a brainstorming session on essential questions that just had to have community and science as the topics.  You can see that Daystar students have a lot of questions.  These questions then ignited more questions.  After we narrow our brainstorming session down to one or two questions - we will spend next quarter researching and inventing new ways to answer these questions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDfVOIZ2tU8

One of the reading strategies a good reader can use is visualization. Students drew a scene from one of their favorite books.  Here is Collin's drawing from The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.
