Pueblo Rescue Mission

Today we took a field trip to the Pueblo Rescue Mission. They serve over 16,000 people a year.  They provide dinner, hot showers, a place to sleep and a light breakfast for about 70 people a day.  And most importantly they share the love of Jesus!  This is the only such place in Pueblo for single men or women.  What an incredible ministry.

The students of Daystar commented that they are even more energized about their project Healthy Helping Hands.  They truly want to make a difference for other people. It also made all of us very grateful for the blessings that we have.

John, a worker there, gave the children a short testimony. He told them he had spent 30 years in jail because he had made some very bad decisions. He has now given his life to Jesus and is trying to share Jesus in a very real way, every day.

"After John gave his testimony, it hit me that some people have really rough lives and that it makes me appreciate things more," said Bella, 4th grader.

"It makes me want to do something to help people," said Grant, 8th grader.

This makes me think of the Bible verse in Philippians 2:4, "And look out for one another's interests, not just for your own"
