Today we started a new math facts drill and score. 3rd and 4th graders will be doing a 3 minute timed test of addition/subtraction and a 3 minute timed test of multiplication. 5th graders will be doing 3 minutes of multiplication and 3 minutes of division. They will be scored out of 55.
Today we studied how to read a map during social studies. In writing we reviewed for our run-on and fragment test which is tomorrow. Here is a great game to review: https://jeopardylabs.com/play/sentence-fragments-run-on-sentences9. We also started to work on homophones. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0VpP7VxtYg&list=PLE6CAE72F504CB0A0.
For reading I handed out reading packets which will be due next Friday. Please don't forget this is also the day that the Social Studies project is due.
Our quote for today is Ann Voskamp, “Practice is the hardest part of learning, and training is the essence of transformation.”
